Curriculum

I am currently using Creative Curriculum approved by the Maryland State Department of Education for the use of family childcare providers. Our center is partnered with ASPIRE, a federal grant program provided and paid for by the state.  We utilize learning components and combine that with hands on activities to reinforce the lesson learned. Arts and crafts are introduced at age appropriate levels. Most of our work will be done during the day but on occasions we will follow up with something for them to do at home. I will also make appropriate suggestions for activities for you to do with your child to enhance or further develop the skills we are learning. During our learning year, I will occasionally send home reports and assessments for you to review. The preschool curriculum is provided for children two and a half and older. The children are encouraged to participate in the learning curriculum; however, they are not asked to sit for an unreasonable length of time.

Daycare

Our Program is more than just a daycare. We focus on critical developmental milestones as well as important life skills. We work hard when we play. We learn through various forms of opportunities such as daily reading, daily music, outdoor activities, as well as group time. We immerse children in learning experiences.

Summer Camp

We make fun look easy! During our summer camp program our children get to explore through different adventures and create lifelong opportunities to stimulate their young minds. We focus on outdoor activities such as water play, playground play, as well as group play. We explore nature which provides our children with countless opportunities for discovery, creativity, and problem-solving.

Infant Care

At Brenda’s little monkey’s daycare, we work with our families to develop daily routines that ensure essential milestone development with each infant. We focus on growth of fine motor skills, leaps, problem solving skills, language skills as well as physical coordination. Our infants are taught early sign language in efforts to help bridge the gap between comprehension and language skills.

Classes

We offer various forms of hands-on learning in coordination with our state approved curriculum, FunShine. For our school age groups, we currently offer virtual learning assistance as well as our support with your child’s studies daily. It’s our goal to help keep your child on track throughout the day.

Toddler

Through our toddler program, our children learn self-care, large motor skills, fine-motor skills, social skills, language skills as well as comprehension. Our toddlers learn the importance of independence which is critical for their development. We focus on learning the seasons, counting, shapes, colors, and letters.
